A review of the history of the Yamsk Gonba and the State Mail in the Ural region (which includes the Perm Territory, the Sverdlovsk region and part of the Kurgan region) in the late XVI - early XX centuries. In a book based on the materials of the Russian State Historical Archive, the State Archive of the Perm Territory, the Central Museum of Communications named after A.S. Popov and the Perm Museum of Local Lore, describes the routes of correspondence, tells about the presence of postal institutions on them, operating tariffs for shipping, methods of transportation, regularity, etc. The texts are illustrated by facsimiles of ancient documents, postcards, cards, cards and schemes
