The name of Panteleimon Kondratievich Ponomarenko is often undeservedly lost against the background of other figures from the Stalinist environment. Connoisseurs of the history of the Great Patriotic War may recall that in 1942-1944 he headed the central headquarters of the partisan movement-but it is unlikely that there is something else. However, there is evidence that it was to him - the secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the long -term leader of Soviet Belarus Stalin assigned the role of his successor. The death of the leader cut off the rapid rise of Ponomarenko. The associates who came to power could not forgive the partisan commander of a swift elevation. The appointment to the secondary post of the Minister of Culture, and then the even honorary link - Kazakhstan, Poland, India, Nepal, the Netherlands, Austria ... There are no secrecy stamps on the Ponomarenko memoirs, but nevertheless they were almost unknown to the public for a long time. It"s time to fix this mistake
