The monograph is dedicated to the fifteen -year collection of texts, which are written by various authors, but are united by a common goal - to tell about modern Paris. This collection is one of the most characteristic examples of the literature that Walter Benjamin called Panoramic and which can also be called kaleidoscopic. How does this publication work, which reader is it designed and is there a common one in these 15 volumes composed of one and a half hundred writers? To answer these questions, the author considers the “Book of one hundred and one” in the context of other, earlier and later “Pariscopting” works. The monograph includes numerous excerpts from essays and a complete translation of 15 texts, most of which have never been translated into Russian. The book continues the previous works of Vera Milchina (the school of relevant humanitarian studies of the RANEPA, the Institute of Higher Humanitarian Research of the Russian State University) “Paris in 1814-1848: everyday life” (2013, 2nd Publishing House 2017) and “The Names of Parisian Streets. Guide to the Names ”(2016)
