These essays are a reference publication on the history of intellectual culture of the Middle Ages, as it was reflected in the works of philosophers, theologians, natural scientists and encyclopedists of the Latin West of the XIII-XIV centuries. The author not only sets himself the goal of outlining the circle of intellectual interests of medieval thinkers, to identify the specific features of their life path, but also seeks to provide information about the nature of medieval education as a whole, i.e. Report general information about the monastery and cathedral schools as the centers of early medieval culture, as well as the university culture of the mature Middle Ages.
In the section "literature" of this volume of essays, a list of selected works in Russian is given on the history of medieval Western European culture as a whole, including educational, review and reference materials (including those used in writing these essays) In addition, this volume contains additional articles, essays, training programs and a comparative chronological table.
