These essays are a reference publication on the history of intellectual culture of the Middle Ages, as it was reflected in the writings of philosophers, theologians and natural scientists of the Latin West of the XIII -XV centuries. The author not only sets himself the goal of outlining the circle of intellectual interests of medieval thinkers, to identify the specific features of their life path, but also seeks to provide information about the nature of medieval education as a whole, i.e. Report general information about the monastery and cathedral schools as the centers of medieval scientific tradition, as well as the university culture of the mature and late Middle Ages.
This volume of essays is equipped with lists of monastic orders mentioned in them, religious congregations, societies and fraternities (with their full names and adopted reductions), settlements (with Latin variants of their names and indicating the areas of location), authors and saints (from The initial spelling of their names and years of life).
