When the soldiers return home from the war and tell compatriots about those years that they spent in uniforms, they recall, as a rule, only exceptional moments. And when the next generations look back, more often victories overshadow failures, and only some, especially bright ones, defeats remain in memory for a long time. It was such events that were primarily remembered throughout the 19th century, and in our time they still dominate in popular history. The military routine is quickly spent from memory. However, even in the most tempered veterans, most of their army life was just filled with such a routine that caused boredom and longing.
