On sailboats "Hope" and "Neva" in Japan

In August 1803, two sailing boats "Nadezhda" and "Neva" sailed from Kronstadt. Exactly three years later, they returned back, making the first round -the -world voyage in the history of the Russian fleet.
The expedition under the leadership of Ivan Kruzenshtern made a significant contribution to the study of the world ocean and in many industries of the natural and humanities.
Participation in this swimming was the beginning of a career for two future leaders of famous scientific expeditions: Yungi-volunteer Otto Coceba (led two round-the-world floats) and Michman Faddei Bellingshausen (head of the round-the-world Antarctic expedition, which is considered one of the most important and difficult in history in history )
