It was 1938. In the evening of one of the February days, the snowy slopes of the low mountains west of Kandalaksha illuminated a huge torch. In a matter of minutes, the hydrogen fire destroyed the best airship of the Union - "CSC R -B6 Osawahahim", and with it - 13 out of 19 crew members. The death of the flagship of the airship fleet overgrown with various rumors, in recent times, lovers of pseudo -administration investigations addressed it more than once, but the true circumstances and causes of the disaster remained unknown. The historian of the airship, Alexei Belorok, puts forward his version, based on various sources, including dozens of archival documents, many of which were declassified only recently and are put into circulation for the first time. The book does not close on the polar tragedy, but talks about the events that preceded the construction of the airship, about its place in the general picture of the domestic controlled aeronautics, covering the period from the beginning of the twentieth century before the cessation of the construction of air ships in 1940.
