Monumental collection of articles" Moscow Kremlin of the XVII century. The ancient shrines and historical monuments are a continuation of the thematic series dedicated to the life of the Moscow Kremlin in different historical periods. This work is the first comprehensive study of the Moscow Kremlin as a monument of Russian history and culture of the XVII century. Various, both in the subject and by the genres of the article, are generalizing studies united in several blocks. Thus, a holistic idea of various aspects of the Russian spiritual and artistic culture of the Moscow Kremlin of that era is created. The publication is equipped with a large number of illustrative material, including both images of unique monuments and objects from the collection of museums of the Moscow Kremlin, as well as photographs and graphs from museums, archives and libraries of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sergiev Posad, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaluga and other cities.
