In the monograph of the Doctor of Philology, Professor A.M.ranchin, works of ancient Russian book, dedicated to the killing of the princes of Boris and Gleb, Svyatopolk Emergency. The author addresses the controversial and intriguing issues of the history of these texts, as well as the church glorification of saints. Some of the chapters are devoted to the poetry of the monuments of the Borisoglebsky cycle-their spatio-temporal organization, symbolism, the functions of biblical quotes-and the problems of the reliability of works as historical sources, including the now fashionable version of Yaroslav as a wise as a killer of one or both brothers
