The great Kyiv Prince Vladimir Monomakh was a real guardian of the Russian land, its defender and organizer. He successfully defended Russia from the Stepnikov-Polovtsy, for a long time having repelled them to run into Russian lands and rob them. He took our homeland and from another, no less danger - mutual hostility of the Russian princes themselves. Monomakh managed to reconcile them among themselves and preserve the unity of Russian lands. The Moscow rulers who later became Russian kings have their origin from Vladimir Monomakh, so the Grand Duke Crown is called a cap of Monomakh. For the selfless ministry of God"s truth and for Christian fraternity, the Russian Orthodox Church glorified Vladimir Monomakh as a holy noble prince
