The Red Army could not defeat the Civil War of 1917-1922. Without tens of thousands of former officers who served in her ranks. At the same time, the mention of the word “officer” in early 1918 in Soviet Russia could lead to a hopeless reprisal. Therefore, former officers who went to serve in the new army of the world"s first state of workers and peasants began to be called military specialists, or abbreviated by the military. Everyone in the Civil War had to make a difficult choice. Some played an outstanding role in the creation and strengthening of the Red Army in responsible posts. Others paid tribute to the era, imitating the revolutionaries, not considering nothing with anything. Still others showed themselves as heroes. There were victims, and the defectors, and the conscious enemies of the Soviet regime - active figures of the white underground. The life and difficult fate of the military were devoted to a new study by the doctor of historical sciences A.V. Ganin. The work is based on the documents of thirty archives of Russia and foreign countries. The book is intended for all those interested in the military-political history of Russia and adjacent states in the revolutionary era
