The new book of the famous Ural historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences A.D. Kirillova talks about the recent past of our region, which is still difficult to call history. The author chronologically illuminates the events in the economy, culture, education, sports that took place before our eyes from 2000 to 2017, which we lived, which we watched from television screens in which we took part in one way or another, and also “looked” in 2018.
When writing the book, archival documents, media publications were used, but most of all the materials of the magazine Ural Federal District, published in order to capture the main changes that began to occur in our life at the beginning of the 21st century.
The study showed special attention to Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Sverdlovsk region, his actions to revive the role of the Middle Urals as a "supporting land of the state."
The book to a certain extent sums up and reflects the author’s research and educational activities over the past twenty years: participation in the implementation of museum and exhibition projects, in the preparation and publication of more than 20 books on the history of the Urals. Many of them came out in large editions and replenished book meetings of the libraries of most municipalities and educational institutions of the region.
The publication is designed for teachers of history, local historians and everyone who is interested in the modern history of their native land
