The number is opened by the publication of the materials of the reader conference of the magazine "Translations in the history of the Middle Ages and in the work of the medievist." The articles raise important problems of transmitting historical terms, toponyms, and the experience of translating diplomatic texts in the XVII century is also analyzed. A separate section is dedicated to the Itineries of the French monarchs of the 16th century, real and imaginary. An articles about various entertaining and unusual stories are collected in a separate section: about a rare manuscript from the RND collection, about the decoration of the room in which the heir to the throne should be born, and about the "monsters".
