The Second World War has determined the entire international policy from the middle of the XX until the beginning of the XXI century. Its interpretation (mainly through the image of the Great Patriotic War) became the ethical foundation of all Russian politics. Domestic ideas about that turning point do not coincide with the assessments and views that have established in the historical memory of other countries. European and American Nar-Ratives are quite known in Russia, including in the context of fierce disputes at the highest political level. Stepping interpretations remained for the most part outside the field of vision of our reading public. The cooperation of the journal “Russia in Global Policy” and the Center for the Study of Cultural Memory and the Symbolic Policy of the European University in St. Petersburg allowed to prepare the first qualified overview and analysis of this problem field.
Eleven chapters of the monograph were written by fraud experts and /or specialists in the field of international relations, and it is from this prospect that they look at the policy of memory of the Second World War in Japan, China, North and South Korea, Mongolia, India, Iran, Iran, Iran Turkey, countries of the Arab world, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. And internationalists, and political scientists, and culturalists, and historians, and, finally, researchers of memory policy as an interdisciplinary field - everyone will find a lot of useful information and food for thought here
