Vladislav Mikhailovich Glinka (1903–1983) - writer and historian who has worked in the State Hermitage for many years. He survived the blockade of Leningrad, working at this difficult time by the Guardian in the Hermitage, a paramedic in the hospital and at the same time responsible for the preservation of the collections of IRLI of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (“Pushkin’s house”) Glinka after the death of the author during the analysis of the archive. The narrative of the first blockage winter in Leningrad is undoubtedly the main thing of the author’s memoirism, where the main characters of the narrative are two layers of people who find themselves in the blockade. One of these layers is dying. Another, on the contrary, is unusually tenacious. This is the peculiarity of the blockade memoirs V.M. Glinka - scenes characterizing the inevitability of the death of entire layers of cultural workers in conditions of disaster of 1941–42
