The geographical poles of our planet are located in the Arctic and Antarctica. And where do we finally come if we go on a compass for sure to the north? To the northern geographical pole? No, the magnetic North Pole does not coincide with the geographical. And in different years, the compass needle can bring us to different places: the magnetic poles, unlike geographical ones, do not stand still!
The brochure tells about the magnetic field of the earth, about the history of the study of magnetic poles, as well as about the history of the movement of poles and their current movement.
The text of the brochure was prepared based on the materials of the lecture read by the author on October 5, 2002 at small Mehmat for schoolchildren of grades 7-8.
