The monograph is dedicated to the struggle of the state and the Church in Russia of the 18th century with the personnel and church legislation of that time, which were considered, criminal forms of deviation from the norms of behavior. The seven chapters of the monograph consistently examine the persecution for illegitimate relations, rape, incest, cattle formation, sodist, violations of marriage legislation and suicide. The problems of a book based mainly on a wide range of first -introduced archival sources are at the junction of several areas of historical science - the history of sexuality, the history of emotions, the history of everyday life, gender history and new social history. Particular attention in it is also paid to the practices of the functioning of the central and local judicial investigative bodies, the relations of state and church institutions
