Anya and Varya Kendel - Russian artists, twin sisters who love to travel and make illustrations for books together. In 2021, Anya spent five months on the shore of Lake Baikal, and two years before she went on a kayak 400 kilometers along the western coast. In that campaign, the idea was born to make a book about Lake Baikal. The project won the Self -Cat Association Competition Book inside in 2019.
About illustrators
The twin sisters Anya and Varya Kendel are most like traveling, nature and together to create illustrations for books. After graduating from the Art Academy in 2018, they illustrated more than 15 publications. Girls received the Award of the Golden Apple of the International Biennale of Illustrations in Bratislava in Bratislava, the main prizes of the Beijing and Shanghai International Book Exhibitions, 6 times became the winners of the competition "image of the book"
