For the first time, Anthology, collected by the scientists of the Pushkin House, Damir Vasilievich Solovyov, presents in this fullness the travel notes, memoirs, letters and diaries of foreigners in the part where they express judgments about the Russian people from the first mention until the end of the 18th century.
The evidence given by the compiler in a chronological sequence will allow the reader to look at our history with other people"s eyes and evaluate how the judgments of foreigners about a Russian person remained unchanged for centuries. Many texts are translated directly by the compiler and in Russian will be published for the first time.
Compiled by Damir Soloviev
