The position of maid of honor appeared in the court state under Peter I, when the monarchy courtyards of Western Europe were taken for the samples. The maids of honor were on duty in the rooms of the empress and wife of the heir to the throne, accompanied them on walks, church services and entertainment events, and attended official ceremonies.
