The book is dedicated to the study of the phenomenon of the Tolstoy-Rebel and his connections with the world philosophical tradition, the formation of the religious and philosophical views of Tolstoy, the writer"s views in the line of Russian philosophical thought. The publication is initiated by the theoretical seminar “Philosophy in literature. Literature in philosophy. The path laid by Leo Tolstoy ”in the State Museum of L.N. Tolstoy (2013–2020), where the authors discuss a wide range of problems-metaphysics of L. Tolstoy, a dispute about morality, the socio-political aspects of his work. The relevance of the book is determined by the contribution to the fatigue, the philosophy of literature, to the demonstration of the modern significance of the ideas of L. Tolstoy. The interdisciplinary approach to the heritage of the great classic, uniting philosophers, historians, literary critics, philologists, culturalists, is extremely fruitful both for understanding the evolution of his worldview, place and role in world culture, and for the development of Russian philosophy and its connections with foreign philosophical thought.
