The book considers the story of the "Leningrad business" - one of the well -known political affairs of the "late Stalinism". In the scientific literature, the Leningrad leaders of the military and post -war periods are mostly represented by the victims of the Stalin regime, who fell as a result of intrigues in the highest leadership of the USSR. The book, based on archival documents, shows the corruption actions of the Leningrad authorities in the most difficult military and post -war years, protectionism in Smolny’s personnel policy, violations during the elections of party bodies and other managerial practices that have developed in the Leningrad power structures.
The book is addressed to historians, political scientists, public figures, teachers and students who are interested in the political history of the USSR
