The British historian Jonathan Reilismit in his work considers the Order of the Brothers of the Jerusalem Hospital of St. John the Baptist (such is the full name of the Order of Hospitallers) in two aspects: as the most important public institution of European settlements on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea and as the Knight"s Order of the Roman Cocatolic Church, whose influence spread to all Christian world.
