The first part of the book is an analysis of the latest Anglo -American literature on the problems of ancient Russian statehood of the middle of the 9th - early 12th centuries, which is little known not only to the wide Russian reader, but also to specialists in this field, because it has never been published in Russia. Russian historian A.V. Fedosov examined the most noticeable works of Anglo -American authors, who had been released from the beginning of the 70s of the last century to the present. The directions of the development of the latest Russians and its scientific achievements are determined.
The second part is the translation of the work “Kingdom of Russia” by Professor Wittenberg University (USA) Christian Raffensperger - one of the authoritative modern researchers of Ancient Russia. The main idea of the book is the thesis that Russia, at least until the XIII century, was an integral part of the pan -European cultural political community thanks to dynastic unions, cultural contacts, religious interaction, etc. The author’s original view of the title of ancient Russian rulers and its analogies with Western European titles
