Julian is the last emperor from the house of Constantine the Great - the most interesting and dramatic figure in the history of the late Roman Empire. We know a relatively many about Julian, both thanks to his own vast literary heritage, and thanks to the efforts and talents of Ammian Marcellin and Libania, sincere admirers and political supporters of the emperor.
On the pages of this book is not paid attention to the administrative reforms or religious views of Julian. The latter appears to the reader primarily as a charismatic and energetic military leader.
