"Judge and historian" is a unique detective investigation of the Italian historian Carlo Ginzburg, dedicated to the famous process of Adriano Sofrey. The ex-leader of the left-winging organization "Continuous struggle" ("Lotta Continua") Sofrey was arrested in 1988, accused and convicted of the murder of the police commissar Luigi Calabrazi in 1972. Ginzburg analyzes judicial materials in order to determine whether the investigation managed to prove the guilt of Sofrey.
