Everyone knows the tragic end of the Order of the Temple, the Military Monashy Order, founded in the XII century, one of the most powerful in the West, the process against which, begun by Philip Beautiful in 1307, still feeds many legends and gives rise to many controversy. Perhaps Jacques de Mole (c. 1244-1314), the last great master of the Order of the temple, who died in the flame of the fire for not wanting to renounce his order.
To tell the truth, about this man, a native of the Burgundian county, few people heard few of his quiet career in the east during almost all of his quiet career. Elected by the head of the Templars in 1392, he survived the disappearance of the Latin states after the capture of Acra by the Mameluks. From the Cyprus, where the Christians of the East retreated, he inspired them to fight for the return of Jerusalem, relying on an alliance with the Mongols. But this strategy failed, and a great dream came to an end. Invited by Pope Clement V to discuss the issues of the Crusade and the merger of the orders of the temple and the hospital, the prayer was trapped as a result of intrigue, which he did not see and which became fatal for the Templars.
Alain Demyurzhe, using unrelated documents that have recently been at his disposal, view the life path of a little -known person, which descendants often judged badly, but not deprived of either character or ambitions. Along the way, clarifying some dates and data that seemed to be undeniable, he in an exciting investigation reveals the measure of responsibility of the last great master for the outcome of the process of the Order of the Temple and the true motives of his behavior
