This book is the first biography of the Moscow Prince Ivan Danilovich Kalita (d. 1340), "collector of Russia", the true founder of the Moscow state.
He was unlucky in historiography. "Scum , hypocrite , treacherous Tatar saint - what kind of epithets his historians of the past did not award. The author of the book tried to look at this man in a new way - and another Ivan Kalita appeared before us, a wise ruler, who has earned a good nickname, a man who was trying to zealously fulfill the duty of the sovereign and a Christian in his life.
The book will be useful to a wide reader audience
