The Ismailian community of the Pamirs has a thousand -year history, filled with many dramatic events and cataclysms. However, to date, its full -fledged ethnographic and anthropological analysis has not been undertaken. This is explained by the difficulties of the geographical position of the community, and not always good relations with its neighbors, and, often, prejudices based on an incredible number of fantastic myths about the Pamir Ismailites. In this monograph, the process of developing the spiritual culture of the community is first represented on the basis of an analysis of literary and archival sources, as well as field research of the author.
