This book, although small in volume, is unique in content. Almost eight decades after the events described in it, under one cover, it was possible to unite the memories of two people who fought not only in the same division or regiment, but also in one platoon! The personalities of memoirists themselves are also extremely interesting and unusual for the composition of the 1941 Red Army. The commander of the sapper platoon Boris Zylev is a graduate student of the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers (MIIT), and his ordinary fighter Anatoly Darkov is a teacher of the same university, a candidate of technical sciences, who already issued several textbooks by the beginning of the war. The tragic circumstances of the first weeks of the war brought them together as part of the 6th division of the People’s militia of the Dzerzhinsky district of Moscow. The division included workers of large enterprises of the district (Boits, Krasny Meter, Stankolit, Red Stamp, a Factor, Factory Factory, Gliser Plant), as well as employees of institutions, teachers and students of higher educational institutions, including that number MITA. The fate of the Moscow People’s Militia for the most part was tragic. The authors of this book fully divided it, finding himself in the infamous Vyazemsky environment. The first months of the war on distant approaches to Moscow are devoted to this book
