The world of the nobility of the Hungarian kingdom in the XVI-XVII centuries. It is presented in the book proposed by the reader in the focus of personal history - through the dissimilar fate of many people who differed in their views, by the situation occupied in society and in the profession, as well as in the situations in which they found themselves. In the book there was a place both outstanding and widely known in Hungarian history, such as Miklosh Estherkhazi or Balint Balashshi, and those who we would never have known about, without accidentally encountering their names in the archives. On the example of a separate story, it explores how the more general trends in the development of society and the state were reflected in this difficult period of history for Hungary. And the study of the views of the most interesting representatives of the Hungarian nobility on vital issues for them - about the authorities and relations with it, about its class and its place in society, about Hungarian, their history and role as defenders of Christianity in Europe, etc. - It allows you to see how the traditions and mental attitudes in which generations of the post -shack Hungary have grown up determined the boundaries of their capabilities in the current new historical conditions. At the same time, personal stories most close to the individual have their own value, showing the heroes of essays at those moments of life when they most fully and vividly revealed themselves and showed the ability to make non -trivial decisions. It is appropriate to talk about their personal identity, and in the activity to recognize an individual choice that exalted these people over a crowd of nameless statists, even if they did not become outstanding personalities in the usual sense.
