In his youth, Adolf Hitler lived in Vienna for five years. It was there and then that the hated attitude to the ruling imperial family of the Habsburgs, the desire to take revenge of the disappeared empire, the killed Archduke and its heirs, was finally formed. When Germany captured Austria in 1938, it was Maximilian and Ernst that became the first Austrians arrested by the Gestapo. Sent to the Dachau concentration camp in Germany, the brothers in a matter of hours fell from the palace in the dawn. Women of the family, including the only daughter of the Archduke, Princess Sofia Gogenberg, entered into confronts with Hitler. Their resistance and courage in conditions of betrayal, betrayal, torment and hunger helped the family survive during the war and in difficult peacetime.
