Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin (1766–1826) is a poet, writer, publisher of the Moscow magazine and “Bulletin of Europe”, the last historiographer of Russia, the author of the “History of the Russian State” and “Poor Lisa”. Nikolai Mikhailovich worked on the creation of the historical prostesteller of his time for more than twenty years and in the process of work he managed to find truly unique primary sources, including the Ipatiev Chronicle. The historical poem, as the author called his work, covers history from ancient times to the reign of Ivan the Terrible and Troubles. Karamzin managed to create a highly artistic historical book intended for a wide circle of readers
