This work is an attempt to reconstruct the history of the state of Lahmids, which existed from the second half of the III to the beginning of the 7th centuries. In the southwestern part of the modern Iraq. The rulers of the Lahmid dynasty possessed power over a number of Arab tribes, including those who lived in Arabia, but at the same time obeyed the kings of the Sassanid power and served them as governors. The work presents the political history of the Lahmid state, observations and generalizations regarding its development are made. Much attention is paid to the history of the Sassanids and their policy in relation to the Arabs
