Semen Markovich (Shimen Meerovich) Dubnov (also Simon Dubnov, 1860 - 1941) - Historist, publicist and public figure, one of the classics and creators of the scientific history of the Jewish people. He wrote in Russian and in Yiddish. In 1922 he emigrated to Germany, in 1933 he moved to Latvia. Here he completed - the ten -volume history of the Jewish people.
