This book is a textbook for students of humanitarian universities and faculties studying the history of the East or a general history. The East means the countries of Asia and North Africa, and material in black Africa is also involved. The purpose of the author is to present in an accessible form of the main facts of the history of the peoples of the East in the context of the world -historical process, their streamlining, developing an understanding of the logic of the historical process and the logic of historical research, and the development of historical thinking among readers. To achieve these goals, acquaintance with the basic theories of the historical process, factors and criteria of social evolution, the problem of the comparative meaning of internal development and external influences. On the basis of ideas about the general laws of history, an understanding of the characteristic features and stages of the development of the main Asian and African societies, the features of the historical formation and modern functioning of the main public institutions should arise. The book will be useful not only to students, but also to everyone who is interested in the history of Asia and Africa
