Active state adviser, historian, specialist in France and a wonderful storyteller, S.D. Akhsharumov presented the history of the Bastille from the very beginning of its existence. The historian described in detail the features of its device with the presentation of the detailed plan of the fortress, the orders existing in it and how the conditions of the prisoners were changed, and also who, how and for what was thrown into her dungeons. Choosing the most vivid events characterizing different eras, the historian spoke about the intrigues and insidiousness of the monarchs and subjects of the crown, about courage and cowardice, about meanness and nobility. For more than four centuries, the fortress hated by the French lasted and only in 1789 was destroyed by rebellious Parisians
