The book presents the history of the development of Russian state symbolism, tells how the main distinctive signs of its sovereignty - the emblem, flag and hymn were born and fortified the state.
This symbolism at all times expressed not only the official ideology, but was also the embodiment of self -awareness of the people, their attitude to state values. Naturally, it changed in the same way as the public way, and the state system, and society itself changed. On the coat of arms, a double -headed eagle with crowns gave way to a sickle and a hammer, and then returned again. The state flag carried on itself now white-blue-red, then black and yellow, then red colors, to stop again on a tricolor. The country"s anthem first exalted the king, but over time, people and power came to the first place
