The training manual discusses the key problems of the history of Russia from the accession of Emperor Alexander III and before the beginning of the Russian Revolution of 1917. Based on a wide range of sources and research literature, the features of socio-economic development, the evolution of the country"s state system, various directions of socio-political thought, and the history of social movements, etc. Particular attention is paid to issues of the history of Russian culture against the background of a wide historical context. The book makes it possible to compare various points of view on the complex problems of Russian history (counter-reforms of the 1880-1890s, the revolution of the 1905-1907, Ctolypin transformations) The authors sought to state the material on the basis of an objective, scientific and systematic approach corresponding to the modern level of development of social and humanitarian knowledge.
