"History of navigation and navigation" united the rich experience in the field of traditional navigation of the American yachtsman, traveler and writer Donald S. Johnson and the passion for cartography of the Finnish Marinist Yukhi Nurminen. More than half of the book is an excellent illustrative material - mainly from the collection of Nurminen himself and the John Nurminen Foundation he headed.
From the general history of navigation, the authors identified navigation, in chronological order, telling about the formation of it as a science, about the role of astronomy, geography and cartography in the theory and practice of navigation.
For the first time, the book was published simultaneously in Finnish and English. Today the book is also available to a Russian -speaking audience. The publication will be interested in both specialists and the widest circle of readers
