The textbook in a systematic form highlights the problems of the history and methodology of legal science. It analyzes the history of foreign and Russian legal science, considers philosophical and legal theories and fundamental principles of cognition, which constitute the methodological basis of jurisprudence. Significant attention is drawn to the use of methods for performing a scientific task by which knowledge is obtained, approaching the reflection of objective reality. The publication is addressed primarily to undergraduates of law faculties, and can also be useful to graduate students, applicants and everyone who is interested in the problems of legal science
