The book opens up a new popular science series "Historical Chronicles", designed to tell the reader about the past of the iconic cultural objects of Sevastopol in an accessible form. At the stage of the formation of the city, Orthodox churches played a special role among them in public life. The long -term research work carried out by the author together with Sevastopol historians made it possible to collect a unique archival material telling about the life of the temple and its community in the context of local and all -Russian history. For the first time, the book contains the lists of the Peter and Paul Church in different periods, the clergy, data of metric books. Many of the given illustrations were not previously published.
