The monograph by the doctor of historical sciences A. I. Sidorov is the first study of the historical culture of the Franks in the Carolingian era (VIII-X centuries) in Russian science. The author’s focus is the sum of historical knowledge available to the francs, sources of the formation of these knowledge, methods of fixing and broadcasting, techniques and methods of their development and further use. A special section of the book is devoted to the study of reader practices.
