Many mistakenly think that this custom has come to us from the United States. In fact, the history of Halloween (abbreviated from All Hallows ’Eve or All Saints’ Eve-“Evening of all the Saints”) is rooted in the rituals of the druids that once inhabited ancient Ireland. According to their beliefs, on the night of Samain - the night of the full moon closest by November 1 - the world of the dead universally connects with the world of the living, not without reason the proverb had a proverb: Death is just the middle of a long life.
