In the military history of any country there are status events and battles, but there are those that no one really knows about. Take, for example, the Crimean War of 1853-1856. Everyone knows about the heroic defense of Sevastopol and the Sinop battle. Many are aware of the capture of Kars. Someone knows about the defense of the fortresses of Bomarzund, Sveaborg and the Solovetsky Monastery. But few even heard that one of the few unconditional victories of Russia over the united British-French forces of the army and navy was won in the distant Kamchatka
