The book introduces readers with the economic, trade, political, military and diplomatic expansion of Great Britain in Latin America. For one and a half centuries, the British Empire was a world leader in the field of economic and political development. The most important place in its foreign policy and trade was occupied by the huge territories of the New World, which were part of the 15th century. The Spanish and Portuguese Empires. Many problems of London"s expansion on the American continent have not yet been a special study subject. In fact, this topic was least studied in Russian historical science. The authors give a wide picture of the activities of the foggy albion - from imperial ideology related to new light, to military expeditions and pirate raids, interventions, merciless operation and colonial captures in this region, shameful pages associated with slave trade. The reasons for the creation of the "informal empire" and its characteristic features, acute rivalry with the United States and the gradual loss of dominant positions are analyzed.
