Continuing the chronicle of the life of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich Romanov (1857-1905), we publish a selection of documents for 1895-1899. Appointed to the post of Moscow Governor General by his august brother Alexander III in 1891, the Grand Duke also devotedly continues to serve his son - Nicholas II, trying to protect the young king from political intrigues and provocations of anti -state elements. Studying archival materials, we will take a fresh look at the famous events of 1896 on the Khodynsky field and the “guilt” in them of the Moscow authorities, we will see deeper the springs and mechanisms of the action of revolutions on the example of student riots of 1899. I have a little good in the future! - Such a sad result is summed up by Sergey Alexandrovich at the very end of the XIX century
