This book discusses the conceptual foundations of geographical information systems (GIS) - the most important algorithms that make up the foundation of many operations on spatial data. Having tracked how these data are submitted to the input of the algorithm and how the algorithm is used to obtain the final result, the reader will understand two important aspects of GIS: which is actually the geospatial data and how they are processed.
