When a military-chemical service was created in the Red Army in May 1918, it got stocks of cylinders with two poisonous gases-chlorine and phosgen. In 1921, in the USSR, the process of creating an industry for the production of chemical weapons began, which only during the years of the Cold War produced more than 60 thousand tons of combat poison, many species of which in their parameters significantly exceeded American counterparts.
